Limpopo mom and son jailed for killing abusive husband

A Limpopo woman and her son were jailed for five years each on Thursday by the Sekhukhune Regional Court for killing her abusive husband.
Nkoto Franinah Selepe, 50, and her 30-year-old son Mtswatswala were sentenced on Wednesday for the 2010 murder, police spokesman Constable Shaqelo Lesufi said.
They assaulted the husband after he abused his wife. He later died in hospital.
"The police hope this will send [a] clear message to the community to report domestic violence to [the] police, and not to take the law into their own hands," Lesufi said.
