Corpse beheaded in North West
The headless body of a man has been found in a graveyard in Makwassie, near Wolmaransstad, North West police said on Tuesday.
Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said municipal workers alerted police on Monday after they noticed one of the graves had been tampered with.
"A body of the man that was buried had been exhumed without permission."
The body was still in the coffin, but had been beheaded. The head was missing.
"The family of the man was notified as the man was only buried on Saturday."
No arrests had been made and the violation of the corpse and graveyard was being investigated.
