13 drivers arrested for speeding on N1

Eleven men and two women were arrested for speeding on the N1 south, the Johannesburg metro police department said on Sunday.

"They were arrested on Saturday night and were caught driving over the 120km/h speed limit," spokesman Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

One of the women was caught going at 185km/h in a Mini Cooper.

"Those arrested were all young people," Minnaar said.

They were expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
