Two girls, aged three and seven, were among six girls raped in Limpopo at the weekend, police say.

Three men, including a soldier, were arrested, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

The three-year-old was raped, allegedly by a neighbour, in Letsitele on Sunday. Her mother caught the man in the act at a nearby river.

In Maake a father raped his seven-year-old daughter. Both men were arrested.

A 22-year-old SA National Defence Force member was arrested at Malale village on Monday following the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Tshamutumbu.

"It is alleged the suspect, who is based at Madimbo, has been molesting the victim for months. The ordeal came to the attention of the victim's mother who reported the matter to the police this morning [Monday]."

A 16-year-old girl was abducted and gang-raped, allegedly by three men, in Maake.

A 13-year-old girl from Vila Nora, about 40km west of Lephalale, was kidnapped and repeatedly raped for two days. A 17-year-old girl from Vila Nora was raped on her way home from a local tavern around 2am on Saturday.

No arrests had been made in these three cases.
