A man accused of murdering his girlfriend and her lover appeared in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Thursday, said Eastern Cape police.

Captain Jackson Manatha said the case against Mteteleli Ndzuzo was postponed to February 19. He would remain in custody.

"He was not asked to plead," said Manatha.

Ndzuzo allegedly killed the two at Boyleni Location on Sunday.

The 35-year-old man apparently went to his girlfriend's home after being told she was sleeping with another man, said Manatha.

"Upon his arrival, he forced the door to the house open and began to assault the two with a hard object," he said.

His 25-year-old girlfriend and a man, 29, were declared dead on the scene. Residents caught Ndzuzo and alerted the police.
