SABC will screen reality TV show with Reeva Steenkamp

The SABC has decided to continue screening the Tropika Island of Treaure 5 reality show, which model Reeva Steenkamp was a contestant on.

The 30-year-old model was one of several celebrities including Jay Anstey, Pearl Thusi, Da Les, AKA and Phuti Khomo, who took part in the reality show challenge, that saw them travel to Jamaica to shoot the 10-part series.

SABC1 publicity manager Vukile Madlala sent out a statement confirming that the show will be screened as planned this Saturday.

“As SABC1; we are deeply saddened by the tragic turn of events involving one of the players on our show, Tropika Island of Treasure Season 5. Our thoughts and prayers during these trying times are with the family and friends of the dearly departed Reeva Steenkamp,” said Madlala in the statement.

Tropika Island of Treasure is scheduled to start airing on SABC1 this Saturday February 16, at 18h30.
