Two appear for Montecasino murder case

The case of two people accused of killing a man and leaving his body in the boot of a car at Montecasino, Johannesburg are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Jean-Pierre Malan and his girlfriend Maruschka Robinson, a former stripper, face murder charges after Dustan Blom's decomposing body was found in the boot of his own car in the parking garage at the entertainment venue in September.

He was found after security guards noticed a bad smell coming from the car.

Robinson was arrested on September 24, and Malan on September 26.

At their previous court appearance, Malan's lawyer Shaun Hamilton said his client would provide blood and handwriting samples.

Four appear for Montecasino fraud

Four men accused of defrauding Dustan Blom, whose decomposing body was found in the boot of his car at Montecasino, Johannesburg are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Brothers Louis and Heinrich Coetzee, and Ian Manyika and Alex de Kooker each face two counts of fraud.

They are accused of taking over R100,000 from Blom's bank account.

The case runs parallel with that of Jean-Pierre Malan and his girlfriend Maruschka Robinson, a former stripper, who are charged with killing Blom.

Blom's decomposing body was found in the boot of his car at Montecasino in September.

During the last court proceedings in January, the court heard how the investigating officer investigating the case against the four men was attacked by armed men looking for a docket.

Prosecutor Yusuf Baba told the court that two armed visitors had sought the docket, and took the officer's identification card.
