Two court orderlies have been shot and injured in the Pretoria Regional Court, according to a report.

Beeld.com reported on Tuesday that an accused in a robbery case apparently shot a court orderly in his side when he went down to the cells to take him up to the court room.

Another court orderly ran downstairs to see what was happening. A second accused grabbed him by the neck and he was shot in the head.

Both men escaped, reported a Beeld journalist.

The condition of the court officials was not known.
