A R1.7 billion claim against mining company Aurora's insolvent estate is expected to continue in the High Court in Pretoria on Monday.
The Sunday Independent reports that Nelson Mandela's grandson Zondwa Mandela and president Jacob Zuma's nephew Khulubuse Zuma are amongst the company's owners the liquidators want held responsible for the fraudulent running of Aurora.
Other Aurora Empowerment Systems directors include Thulani Ngubane, Sulliman 'Solly' Bhana and Fazel Bhana.
The joint liquidators' lawyer John Walker told the newspaper that despite suggestions that Aurora's bosses were planning to ask for a postponement, his clients would ask for the case to proceed.
In an affidavit one of the joint liquidators, Johan Engelbrecht, accused the directors of having made misrepresentations to the liquidators and running the company recklessly.
The liquidators have promised that a forensic investigation will be conducted into the apparent disappearance of R120 million in gold sales.
Aurora was liquidated in October 2011. Its directors were accused of destroying the infrastructure at the mines and causing the loss of more than 5300 jobs.
Aurora was appointed to take over the management of two of Pamodzi Gold's mines in Gauteng and the North West after that company was liquidated in 2009.
