June Steenkamp will release a book about her daughter Reeva who was killed by Paralmpian Oscar Pistorius over a year ago.

Described as "painfully honest and unflinching," June's story about her daughter will also go in to detail about how she dealt with sitting through Oscar Pistorius' Pretoria trial.

According to the Independent, the book titled Reeva, A Mother’s Story, will explore the Steenkamp family's emotional turmoil since they heard of Reeva's passing.

The book will be published by Sphere later this year.

June released a statement outlining her reasons for releasing the memoir.

“Reeva was a beautiful and intelligent woman. She was always so much more than just someone’s girlfriend. She devoted her life to helping people around her and she believed passionately in human rights. She was set to make her mark on the world. That opportunity was taken from her. This book is my way of making sure she will not be forgotten. I have to do the best for her now that she has gone.”
