Woman faces arrest after dumped baby found alive

A woman was questioned by Gauteng police on Friday afternoon after a newborn baby was found alive in the veld in Lenasia.

"The baby was taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and a woman was taken in for questioning as she was suspected to be the mother," Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

"The woman is at Chris Hani Baragwanath now, being checked by the doctors."

If she was the mother police would open a case of child abandonment and arrest her.
