Marli van Breda, the teenager who survived an axe attack, has been discharged from hospital to a rehabilitation facility, according to a report.
Van Breda, 16, was discharged from the Vergelegen Mediclinic on Saturday, her guardians' spokesman Martin Coetzee confirmed to Beeld newspaper.
Coetzee said Marli was still unable to make a police statement.
"She can speak and her health has improved considerably, but like anybody who had a head injury she cannot function 100 percent yet. She must receive occupational and physiotherapy," said Coetzee.
The grade 11 pupil sustained head injuries during an attack on her family at the De Zalze golf estate in Stellenbosch on January 27.
She received an axe blow to the head, among other injuries.
Her parents Martin, 54, and Teresa, 55, and oldest brother Rudi, 22, were killed in the attack. Her brother Henri, 20, survived and is living with family.
No arrests have yet been made, although the police have given the National Prosecuting Authority the murder docket for consideration.
