Two men alleged to have kidnapped three Bangladeshi nationals from the OR Tambo International Airport have been arrested, Johannesburg metro police said.

The two men, who are from Pakistan, were arrested following a joint operation by members of the SA Police Service and metro police, said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.

"The esteemed operation was set up... after information was received that the two suspects had already collected ransom of R150,000 and were going to collect R20,000 at McDonalds in Xavier Street, Ormonde," Minnaar said.

After their arrest, the two men took police to a house in Robertsham where the three kidnapped men were found.

One of them had been kidnapped on January 29 while the other two were kidnapped on Sunday.

"The two suspects are being detained at holding cells in OR Tambo International Airport and will appear in court soon for kidnapping," said Minnaar.
