Woman alleged to have 'offered' girls to farmer for compensation

A Stutterheim mother and a local farmer appeared in court for sexual offences after allegedly trafficking three girls. The woman cannot be named to protect the identity of one the victims who is related to her. The farmer cannot be named because they have not yet been asked to plead.It is the state's case that the woman "offered" the girls to the farmer for compensation.Together they face a string of 26 charges which include sexual exploitation of a child and human trafficking for sexual purposes. The farmer also faces three counts of rape.It is alleged that the farmer would give the woman between R90 and R150 each time. The woman would‚ allegedly‚ in turn give the girls R20 each to buy their silence.The courtroom is packed‚ with members of the ANC Women’s League also in attendance. – RDM News Wire, Daily Dispatch..
