Presidency wishes Mac ‘a speedy recovery’

President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday “extended his good wishes” to his former spin doctor Mac Maharaj “who is unwell”. According to a Presidency statement‚ Maharaj was admitted to a hospital in Durban last Thursday where he underwent surgery for lung cancer.Although the procedure was said to be successful‚ complications arose post-operation‚ the Presidency said‚ and now a “team of highly competent doctors and staff are focusing on stabilising his condition”.Further updates on his condition will only be issued “when there is significant change”."We wish this veteran of our struggle all the best as he fights this new battle in his life‚" said Zuma.“We wish him strength and a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and the family.”The Maharaj family also used the statement to thank the media and the public for their support‚ and pleaded for understanding of the need to ensure maximum privacy for the family during this time...
