Former Wits SRC president Mcebo Dlamini declared that Jewish “are devils, they are good for nothing… they (Jews), like Adam Habib, are uncircumcised at heart” during a radio interview.

According to IOL Dlamini was attempting to defend his statements about loving Hitler in a PowerFM interview.

“When a black student says that ‘white people hate Adolf Hitler, but they are doing exactly what he did’, I say that I love Adolf Hitler,” he said.

Adolph Hitler, the German Chancellor of Germany who perpetrated one of the worst genocides in human history.

He gained power mainly by utilising pre-existing racist and religious animosities in Germany that had become more acute due to the country's economic weakness.

This coupled with intimidation tactics and the promise of stability allowed him to gain power.

His targets for genocide included Jewish people, the Roma, Slavs and black people (who he believed should be forcibly sterilised.)

Apartheid president BJ Vorster was also a Hitler fan, having joined the Ossewabrandwag during World War Two.

National director of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD) Wendy Kahn has called Dlamini's statements hate speech.

“We are appalled that a young South African would choose to utilise this bigoted speech,” said Kahn.

The board had lodged a complaint with the  Human Rights Commission against Dlamini's initial statements in April. They will also lodge a further complaint following his latest outburst.

Dlamini has a history of dubious statements, having previously falsely claimed to be a Sisulu.

A claim which he was eventually forced to recant, claiming he only used the surname as a stage name despite having told the Wits Vuvuzela his father was Zwelakhe Sisulu and “I love the ANC (African National Congress). When I was introduced to politics I was inducted into the ANC … I was born into it and the family, so everywhere I go I see black, gold and green."

He has also claimed to have degrees in actuarial science and nuclear physics.

Dlamini was removed as SRC president earlier this year, though Wits University vice-chancellor Adam Habib said that the dismissal was not over his support for the Nazi dictator.

"For the purposes of clarity, I would also like to state that the separate matter of Dlamini's recent declaration of admiration for the fascist leader, Adolf Hitler, and what I believe to be racist comments regarding whites, did not influence my decision to require him to step down," said Habib.
