Taxi driver killed in Mpumalanga accident

A taxi driver was killed and the driver of a bakkie had to be airlifted to hospital after their vehicles collided on the R38 near Kaapmuiden in Mpumalanga in the early hours of Sunday‚ emergency medic al services said. There were no passengers in the vehicles at the time‚ according to ER24. “When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found that the taxi had rolled. The taxi driver was flung out of the taxi during the incident. He was found trapped under the taxi which had overturned.“The taxi driver was assessed. Unfortunately he had succumbed to his injuries‚” the emergency medical service said.It added that the driver of the bakkie had also been trapped in his vehicle as well.“Fire and Rescue Services used the jaws of life and other rescue tools to extricate him. He was assessed and found to be in a critical condition. He sustained multiple injuries. Paramedics treated him. He was airlifted by the ER24 DoH MPU helicopter to hospital for further medical care.”..
