Controversial ‘snake feeding’ prophet arrested

A controversial Pretoria preacher referred to as a prophet who allegedly ordered his followers to consume live snakes telling them it would taste like chocolate has been arrested‚ police confirmed on Sunday.

Ga-Rankuwa police spokesperson Captain Rheineth Motlana said Prophet Penuel Mnguni of End Times Disciples Ministries would probably appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of cruelty to animals.

The charges were laid by the Tshwane SPCA‚ Capt Motlana said.

Pictures last week depicting Mnguni allegedly feeding a live snake to one of his followers have gone viral on social media.
