Satawu marches against transport minister

The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union (Satawu) on Tuesday called for both transport minister Dipuo Peters to resign and for President Jacob Zuma to fire her. Satawu will lead a march – comprising “a contingent of our fraternal organisations in civil society‚ education‚ commuters and other pressure groups – against Peters to the Union Buildings in Pretoria.The march‚ which starts at Pretoria train station‚ will culminate when Satawu submits “a memorandum of demands to the Presidency”.According to a statement‚ Satawu “demands that minister Dipuo Peters resigns from her position as she has proven time and again that she is incompetent”.“Her department has stumbled from one failure to another and we call on the president to remove her from the derailing track she is in‚” the statement added...
