Back to school for Nelson Mandela bay after protests

IT is back to school for pupils in Nelson Mandela Bay’s northern areas on Thursday‚ with teachers spending the day before getting classes ready. Pupils will start their third term – nearly two weeks late – after parents closed a number of schools due to a crippling shortage of teachers.Northern Areas Education Forum secretary Richard Draai said: “It is all systems go. We just hope and pray that the positive negotiations we had with the department in the last week or so were not just lip service.“We are hoping they won’t take away the confidence we have about the positive strides in negotiations." - The Herald..
