Heavily pregnant woman trapped under truck in Pietermaritzburg

Rescue services had to use a backhoe to free a heavily pregnant woman who was pinned under a tipper truck near Edendale‚ Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday morning. The woman in her 20s “sustained severe crush injuries to both of her legs” after being trapped up to her waist beneath the cab of the vehicle which had overturned‚ an ER24 statement said.After an operation to free her that lasted one and a half hours‚ she was taken to Edendale Hosptal for urgent medical treatment.The cause of the incident is not yet known...
