One killed‚ 16 injured in KZN taxi crash

One man was killed and 16 other people injured on Sunday morning when a taxi went out of control and left the road and collided with some trees in the Shongweni area in KwaZulu-Natal‚ ER24 emergency medical service reported. “ER24 paramedics‚ along with other services‚ arrived on scene and found the taxi wedged up against some trees.“It is understood that the taxi had left the road and crashed through the roadside barrier‚ rolled down the embankment and come to rest against some trees‚” ER24 said.“On assessment‚ paramedics found that one passenger‚ a man in his 20’s‚ had sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Unfortunately nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene.“Sixteen other patients were found on scene with injuries ranging from minor to moderate‚” ER24 said.It added that paramedics had treated the passengers for their injuries and then transported them to nearby hospitals for further medical care...
