Vehicle plunges 30 metres down embankment

A 37-year-old woman has narrowly escaped death‚ escaping with moderate injuries‚ after her vehicle plunged 30 metres down an embankment on the M13 in Fields Hill in KwaZulu-Natal.

“ER24 paramedics‚ along with rescue services‚ responded to the scene‚ and on arrival found the light motor vehicle lying at the bottom of the embankment in a drainage ditch‚” ER24 emergency medical service said.

“Paramedics‚ using rescue equipment‚ made their way down to the vehicle. Once there‚ paramedics found that a female patient had sustained moderate injuries.

“Rescue services and paramedics carefully extricated the patient from the vehicle and moved her up to the roadside.

“Once treated‚ the patient was transported to Hillcrest Hospital for further treatment‚” the emergency medical service said.

“The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations‚” it added.
