Police are on the hunt for three men wanted for the murder of a shopkeeper who was gunned down during an armed robbery in Khayelitsha.

A 26-year-old Somali man was killed at about 06:00 on Monday in the Endlovini informal settlement, police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said.

“It was alleged that three suspects entered the business and demanded cash,” he said.

“The victim was shot once in the stomach and died on the scene.”

The trio escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and airtime.

No arrests have yet been made.
