'Inappropriate and irresponsible' for Noakes to give advice via Twitter

It was inappropriate for high fat advocate Tim Noakes to give advice via Twitter. This is a according to Professor Muhammad Ali Dhansay‚ who was testifying at a hearing by the Health Professions Council of South Africa.Noakes is accused by the Dieticians Association of South Africa of unprofessional conduct after he gave advice on Twitter to a breastfeeding woman on how to wean her baby.“Professor Noakes provided wholly inappropriate and irresponsible .. nutritional advice to a mother‚" he said.He said the tweet was lacking in detail and argued that Noakes did not know the medical history of the child he was giving advice about.Noakes's attorney‚ advocate Ravin Ramdass‚ argued that there was nothing to say the child had a medical condition.But Dhansay responded that there was not information to suggest that the child did not have a condition.Earlier Dhansay explained the need to have all the background information on a patient before giving an advice."My view is that it (Noakes' tweet) is completely inappropriate‚" he said...
