Cape Town in bid to win World’s Best City fourth time running

Cape Town is in the running to win a prestigious travel award as the World’s Best City for the fourth year in a row. With more than 30‚000 votes counted so far in the UK Telegraph Travel's annual awards‚ South Africa’s photogenic Mother City - where Prince Harry is currently highlighting various charity initiatives‚ including those trying to combat HIV infection and gangsterism - is outshining the competition.Currently in second place is Venice‚ with Vancouver coming in at third spot.New York – which won the title in 2011 – lies in fourth place at the moment. The American city was unseated by Cape Town‚ which has retained the title from then until now.Rounding out the top 10 are Sydney‚ Tokyo‚ San Francisco‚ Rio‚ Seville and Barcelona.Voting is open until February 2016‚ so South African tourism officials will no doubt be hoping the Cape keeps on pleasing its British visitors...
