Sindisiwe Manqele has been found guilty of murdering Nkululeko 'Flabba' Habedi.

Skwatta Kamp band member Habedi‚ 37‚ died of a stab wound to the chest on March 9 in his home in Alexandra‚ Johannesburg.

Manqele‚ 26‚ admitted to stabbing Habedi but pleaded not guilty to murder‚ saying she stabbed him in self-defence.

She said she tried to commit suicide by cutting her wrists after she realised that Habedi was dead.

Manqele sat in the dock dressed in a white shirt and wearing a headscarf. She has worn headscarves throughout the trial in an attempt to hide her face from the media.

The trial revealed details of jealousy and infidelity in the relationship‚ as well as details of a bitter fight between the couple‚ which had started at a Sandton nightclub earlier that fatal night.

Judge Solly Sithole said on Wednesday in the Johannesburg High Court sitting in Randburg that Manqele was the only person who could tell the court what happened in Habedi's bedroom that night.

He said that he is convinced her version of events is not reasonably possibly true and found her guilty of murder.

Sentencing proceedings will continue on Thursday.

According to News24 for the very first time, Habedi's daughter, Lesego, attended the proceedings. Dressed in her school uniform, she sat next to Habedi's mother and brother in the second row of the court gallery.

The family softly expressed their disapproval of Manqele's testimony as Sithole went through it.

Also in the gallery was Flabba's colleague, Shugasmax. The pair were part of the popular hip hop group, Skwatta Kamp.
