The Health Professions Council of South Africa has withdrawn Central University of Technology's accreditation to offer the Diploma in Emergency Medical Care due to non-compliance with the Board's quality criteria. The council's senior manager for public relations and service delivery Dephney Chuma said the board had identified concerns regarding the quality of the qualification.“The University was afforded the opportunity to submit representation to the Board's findings. After several meetings with (the university)‚ there was still non-compliance with the quality concerns raised by the Board and its moderators‚” she said on Tuesday.According to Chuma‚ the university has been advised to terminate the education and training of the pipeline students in the National Diploma programme with immediate effect.“As a way forward‚ (the University) should ensure arrangements are made for the placement of students at various education institutions accredited to offer this programme‚” she said.- TMG Digital/The Times ..
