Two people have been killed while five others have sustained moderate to serious injuries following a collision involving three vehicles on the R61 in Glenmore, KwaZulu-Natal, paramedic services have said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the five injured included a 9-year-old girl and a teenager.

"Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside other services on scene to stabilise the injured before transporting them to various hospitals in the area."

In a separate incident, several people were injured after a taxi overturned on the N12, Benoni on Sunday.

Mathe said Netcare911 paramedics and paramedics from other services worked together on scene to stabilise the injured  before transporting them to various hospitals.

"The Netcare2 helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift a critically injured woman to a hospital in Johannesburg for further medical care."
