Four women are set to appear in court on Monday after they were found with drugs, ammunition and stained money in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, according to a Hawks official.

Officers received a tip-off that there were suspected drug dealers at a house in Lubelwana Street, said Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Robert Netshiunda.

When officers searched the house on Thursday evening, they found mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R135 000, 45 live rounds of ammunition, and R1 250 in cash.

They also found stained bank notes to the value of R8 170.

Netshiunda said they seized a vehicle in the yard which had an engine that was reported stolen.

The women, aged 21 to 53, would appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on a charge of dealing in drugs.
