Two killed as light plane crashes near Lanseria

Two people were killed when their light aircraft crashed near Lanseria airport on the R512 on Monday afternoon, paramedics said. 

Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said paramedics and other emergency services were on the scene, about 10km from the airport. 

The Lanseria fire department was extinguishing the fire.

More details were not immediately available.
