A new book alleges that two oval abrasions found on Reeva Steenkamp's back match Oscar Pistorius' Lazer cricket bat.

The Daily Maverick reports that Calvin and Thomas Mollett have suggested that Pistorius may have attacked Steenkamp with the bat in their new book Oscar vs The Truth.

According to the brothers, Pistorius knew Steenkamp was in the toilet, as the grazes on her back were caused by the bat as Pistorius chased her into it.

"Oscar went after her with a cricket bat – infuriated that she locked herself away from him – and to scare and frighten her, he hit the door with the cricket bat about 2-3 times and also hit the steel plate against the bathtub wall. The time was about 3:14," the Mollets allege.

Steenkamp died a short while later, as four bullets ripped through the toilet door hitting Reeva on the hip, head and arm.

The Molletts believe that the bruises on Steenkamp's body were overlooked or unexplained in the pathologist’s report and testimony.

The brothers believe that because the case seemed so open and shut, the police weren't as thorough as they should have been.
