One killed‚ three injured when fuel tanker explodes during accident

One person was killed and four others were injured when a fuel tanker exploded during a multi-vehicle accident near Pietermaritzburg. KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesman‚ Robert Mckenzie‚ said the N3 south bound‚ near the Peter Brown off ramp outside Pietermaritzburg‚ was closed after the crash at about 3pm on Monday. "The south bound lane is closed and EMS officials are still on scene‚ where there is a crash involving three vehicles.One of these is a tanker‚ which has started a large fire. Initial reports from the scene are that sadly one person sustained fatal injuries and that four people have been injured‚" he said.
