Rhodes rape cases being lodged with police

Cases are being reported to the police against those named on a Facebook list as suspected sexual offenders at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. Grahamstown SAPS spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said that victims had started reporting cases from last week. “Case are starting to come in‚ people are reporting cases‚" she said‚ adding "we are not releasing any statistics”.She could not confirm if any charges had been laid against those on the list and declined to disclose how many cases had been reported.She said that the police were investigating all the reports.When the list of alleged sex offenders was published last week‚ it resulted in a week-long protests by students over sexual assault on campus...
