14 die in taxi‚ truck collision

Fourteen people were killed and two others injured on Friday afternoon when a large truck and taxi collided head-on on Randfontein Road in Randfontein.Paramedics and other services found both wrecked vehicles in the middle of the intersection‚ ER24 said in a statement. Both vehicles were ripped open.Passengers had been thrown out of the vehicles and people were lying scattered around site.Paramedics discovered that 14 people had sustained been killed. Two people had serious injuries and paramedics had to provide advanced life support interventions.EWN reported that Mogale City traffic police spokesperson Papi Motaung said the truck driver was among the dead and that the passenger in the truck was critically injured.The truck was a post office vehicle on its way to make a delivery in Randfontein‚ according to the EWN report.The road was closed‚ affecting traffic flow in the area...
