Court told how cop shot ex and her new lover

A police officer accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her new lover is on trial in the South Gauteng High Court sitting in the Palmridge Magistrate's Court. Warrant Officer Philemon Mandla Mokoena‚ 36‚ who was attached to the Benoni Flying Squad allegedly shot and killed Khanyi Mathebula and Getron Jabula Ndlovu in March 2014.Mathebula was a nurse at Arwyp hospital in Kempton Park while Ndlovu was a constable attached to the Kempton Park police station.Mokoena went to Mathebula's house at about 11pm on the fateful day where an argument ensured.While this was happening‚ Ndlovu who was dating Mathebula‚ was sitting in his white VW Golf 5‚ outside the gate.Mokoena produced his firearm and Mathebula ran for cover towards Ndlovu's car. He chased after her and shot her several times.Ndlovu tried to drive away but he was also shot at.Sergeant Mashudu Rabezwana told the court that he found Mathebula's dead body sprawled on the ground in the street behind Ndlovu's car.Ndlovu was found sitting in the driver's seat‚ bleeding from bullet wounds to the lungs‚ aorta‚ liver‚ intestine and spine. – TMG Digital/Sowetan..
