Trio sought after torching cars at Salt River business

Western Cape police on Tuesday asked for help in tracking down three men who doused two cars in petrol and set them alight at a Salt River business premises.The attack happened on Monday afternoon after the trio entered a business premises on the main road “carrying a black bag”.“The men acted suspicious and one of the employees asked if he could assist them‚” a police statement said.“The suspects took out plastic containers‚ containing petrol‚ and threw it over two parked vehicles and cars were set alight.”The damage to the vehicles – a VW Polo and Hyundai – is estimated at about R200 000.The suspects‚ believed to be aged between 25 and 30‚ fled the scene on foot.Woodstock police are investigating a case of malicious damage to property‚ and anyone with information should contact Warrant Officer Warren Smith on 021-486 2863 or Crime Stop on 0860010111...
