New chief information officer appointed by Transnet

The executive management of one of the country's biggest parastatals‚ Transnet‚ has appointed Makano Mosidi as its chief information officer. Mosidi's appointment is effective from June 1 and she has been tasked with driving Transnet’s digital strategy and innovation.Transnet chief executive Siyabonga Gama said: “She will join the Group Leadership Team and will report to the Group Chief Executive in line with the company’s objective of ensuring that digitalisation is central to driving innovation efficiency and cost effectiveness across all operations. She is specifically tasked with enabling the Transnet business to standardise and rationalise the information technology environment in its railways‚ ports and pipelines business.”Mosidi worked as Chief Information Officer for Middle East and Africa at one of South Africa’s leading and most innovative technology giants Dimension Data (Didata). She has extensive experience in the private sector‚ primarily IT consulting. She has worked at global technology solutions firm IBM and services and advisory firms Ernst & Young and Accenture‚ among others...
