Former ANCYL official accused of assaulting his slain girlfriend's twin sister

Murder accused Patrick Wisani‚ formerly an African National Congress Youth League official‚ has landed himself in further trouble for allegedly slapping and dragging a witness due to testify in his upcoming trial. A warrant for Wisani's arrest was issued by Judge Ratha Mokoatlheng on Tuesday at the South Gauteng high Court‚ sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court‚ when he and his lawyer Mpho Selepe failed to arrive to court.Twin sister of slain girlfriend of ANCYL official to be key witnessWisani was asked on Monday to appear after the State launched an urgent application to have his bail revoked‚ following the allegation that he had assaulted a witness.Wisani‚ 30‚ accused of sjambokking his girlfriend Nospiho Mandleleni‚ 24‚ to death‚ allegedly attacked her twin sister Siphokazi Mandleleni on Sunday.Testifying in court‚ policeman Warrant Officer John Monyai said that Wisani met Mandleleni and her friend out in the street and threatened her‚ demanding that she does not to testify in his murder trial.Wisani then allegedly slapped and dragged Mandleleni.A motorist witnessed the incident‚ Monyai said.Mandleleni had lived with her sister and Wisani in the same house.Wisani‚ who is the former ANC Youth League's chairman for inner city Johannesburg‚ was also a Community Policing Forum member and was banned from Yeoville by the court to prevent him interfering with witnesses.He had tried to have his bail conditions relaxed earlier this year in order to enter Yeoville but his request was denied.According to the indictment‚ Wisani assaulted his girlfriend with a sjambok and a stick. Emergency services were called to the scene but by the time they arrived Nospiho Mandleleni was dead.Two days later‚ Wisani turned himself in to the police.Meanwhile IOL News reported that two ANC ward leaders in Gauteng‚ responsible for the Yeoville area‚ were arrested and face suspension over their alleged involvement in crime at the weekend. Siphiwe Shabangu was arrested for robbery and malicious damage to property and Vusi Mhlongo was arrested for interference and crimen injuria when Shabangu was being arrested‚ it reported...
