VIP protection cop shot by three men in Cape Town

A police sergeant attached to the VIP Protection Unit was injured when he was shot in Cape Town after his shift ended on Tuesday. Hawks spokesperson Major Robert Netshiunda said the 35-year-old was approaching traffic lights in Delft at 10.30pm when three men fired shots‚ injuring him in the lower abdomen."The brave policeman returned fire and the suspects fled the scene. He then drove himself to the nearby hospital‚ where he is receiving treatment and in a stable condition‚" said Netshiunda.On Sunday night‚ a policeman in KwaZulu-Natal was shot dead by two men. They entered a clinic to find it closed‚ and on their way out fired shots randomly‚ killing a security guard."The police pursued them and the officer was then shot and died‚" said Netshiunda.Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call 08600 10111. – TMG Digital..
