Zephany Nurse’s biological father‚ Morne Nurse‚ is frustrated at having to wait another two months before the woman who kidnapped his daughter 19 years ago is sentenced. Cape Town High Court Judge President John Hlophe convicted the 51-year-old woman - who cannot be named to protect Zephany‚ whom she raised under another name - of kidnapping‚ fraud and contravention of the Children’s Act in March. The woman‚ who has been in custody pending sentencing procedures‚ had a new hairstyle and was wearing a black outfit when she appeared in the dock on Monday. She smiled and waved at journalists. The hearing was scheduled to be heard on Monday but the woman’s lawyer‚ Reaz Khan‚ asked for more time to prepare.“I asked for the judgment as early as March‚” said Khan. “Unfortunately‚ I only received the judgment this morning. For that reason I am unable to proceed today.” Celeste Nurse: I experienced a touching moment when my family was reunitedWitnessing Zephany Nurse interact with her siblings a few months back was a touching moment, her biological mother Celeste Nurse told Heart FM this week.Celeste Nurse speaks out on case, says nobody winsA woman may have been convicted of snatching newborn Zephany Nurse many years ago, but nobody wins at the end of the day, her biological mother told Heart FM this weekZephany Nurse - Once upon a time on the Cape FlatsZephany Nurse's fate, to be be stolen at birth, is a real - life verson of an archetypal mythHlophe postponed the matter until August 1. We can’t handle it anymore. We are tired‚ we want to have our lives to ourselves but it is not happening.”He had no sympathy for the woman who deprived him of a bond with his daughter.“The world can blame us for what this lady is going through but she is in court’s hands and the law must take its course.
