Another stash of drugs was found abandoned at the OR Tambo International Airport‚ police said on Monday.

Police’s transnational investigation and crime intelligence units this weekend found a stash of drugs‚ this time cocaine weighing 4.5 kg with a value of R1.3-million.

The drugs were found abandoned inside the toilet of a flight that had just landed at OR Tambo from Sao Paolo‚ Brazil on Saturday afternoon.

The courier was not found.

This comes just a week after the same team managed to intercept another unclaimed bag of drugs‚ a massive 27 kg of crystal methamphetamine valued at R8-million‚ which was retrieved from a flight that had just landed from Abu Dhabi in the Middle East.

The drugs were in one of the passenger bags whose owner failed to collect it.

All of these drugs have been sent to the forensic services of the SAPS for further analysis and the police are still investigating.
