Tractor ploughs into a tree

A large tractor ploughed into a tree on a farm road after the driver‚ who injured his back and abdomen‚ apparently lost control of the machine on a farm road in Stellenbosch.The 38-year-old driver was found on Tuesday lying next to the blue tractor and broken tree branches on a gravel track off the main road running through the Cape Winelands town.“The patient was assessed and it was found that he was complaining of serious pain to his abdomen and back‚ having sustained moderate injuries‚” said emergency medical response service ER24.The man was treated and taken to Mediclinic Vergelegen.And in a second incident shortly afterwards in the town‚ a 22-year-old man was injured on Tuesday after his motorcycle t-boned a car on the R44.ER24 The bike and vehicle were found in the middle of the road by paramedics‚ who took the biker to Mediclinic Vergelegen with injuries to his legs.The driver of the car escaped injury...
