Nigerian with cocaine 'bullets' in his stomach is arrested at OR Tambo airport

A middle-aged man who had swallowed cocaine bullets weighing 1‚1 kilograms was caught during a routine search by the Trans-national Investigation Team of the South African Police Service at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.The value of the drugs is R325‚000‚ Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said in a statement on Wednesday.The 46-year-old man‚ who was travelling on a Nigerian-issued passport‚ was arrested on Tuesday as he was about to catch a connecting flight to Lagos‚ Nigeria. He was coming from Sao Paolo‚ Brazil."He told the airport police who were performing routine duties that the purpose of his visit to the South American country was to visit one of his friends. However‚ when he was subjected to the searching processes‚ including the use of the scanners. It emerged that the suspect had swallowed something‚ which turned out to be cocaine."He has been charged with dealing in drugs and is due to appear in the Kempton Park magistrate’s court soon...
