Aguma appointed SABC Acting Group CEO as board chairman endorses Hlaudi Motsoeneng

South African Broadcasting Corporation board chairman Prof Mbulaheni Maguvhe announced the appointment of James Aguma as Acting Group CEO on Tuesday. He also appointed Audrey Raphela as acting chief financial officer.The appointment comes a day after Acting CEO Jimi Matthews resigned on Monday with immediate effect. “You must by now have heard the then acting Group CEO Jimi Mathews has resigned. I respect the decision he has made and I wish him well‚” Maguvhe said from the SABC's Polokwane studios. Maghuve said he hoped the appointments would assist as the board transformed the organisation in many respects.“I also wish to reassure the public and our staff members that SABC is not in a crisis. We have said this on numerous accounts that the time for austerity has come and is gone thanks to the hard work that (Chief Operating Officer) Mr (Hlaudi) Motsoeneng is displaying in getting us the necessary funds.”Maguvhe said with the funds‚ the SABC would be able to fulfil its public mandate...
