Polokwane pair caught with human head will be charged with murder

A Limpopo murder case has been transferred to a different court after parts of the victim’s body were discovered in different areas within the province. Stanley Mahlake‚ 33‚ and Raatji‚ 50‚ appeared before the Polokwane magistrate's court on Tuesday after they were arrested in possession of an unknown woman's head wrapped in newspapers over a week ago. Mahlake and Raatji were both arrested near a taxi rank in Polokwane after police received a tip of that there were people selling human body parts. However police investigations later linked the severed head to a burnt body of a woman which was discovered in the Mapela area‚ resulting in authorities having to figure out which court had the jurisdiction to hear the matter.During proceedings the state prosecutor presented presiding magistrate Michael Mamabolo with a written confirmation from the office of national director of prosecutions declaring that the matter should be transferred to the Mokerong magistrate's court. The state prosecutor also said the director of prosecutions had confirmed that the two should be charged with murder‚ which is a schedule 6 offence.Mamabolo informed Mahlake and Raatji that they will appear in a different in court the following day as their matter had been transferred.Concerned residents from Villages around the Mapela area where the two stay were also demonstrating outside the court building while holding placards.One of the signs written in colourful letters read “No bail for Killers!”..
