Man gets fractured skull and face for apparently stabbing a child

A man‚ who allegedly stabbed a child‚ was attacked by members of a Pietermaritzburg community on Saturday. ER24 on Sunday said the 23-year-old man was in a critical condition after he was severely assaulted in Imbali."At about 23.30pm paramedics from ER24 were called to Imbali area for a man that was apparently assaulted by members of the community. When paramedics arrived on scene‚ community members were somewhat hostile and indicated that the man apparently stabbed a young child earlier in the evening‚" said ER24's Werner Vermaak.The child was already rushed to a nearby hospital prior to the paramedics' arrival."Paramedics initiated treatment and were threatened by the community for treating the man. They immediately loaded him into the ambulance and left the scene to continue care on route to hospital."Upon full assessment it was found that he sustained multiple stab wounds over his body as well as a fractured skull and face. Paramedics had to place him on life support on route to hospital‚" Vermaak said.Paramedics notified police about the incident."It is unclear if the police attended the scene as paramedics left prior to their arrival‚" Vermaak said.TMG Digital..
