Border Police officers based at Cape Town International Airport arrested a Johannesburg woman after “tik with an estimated street value of R5.4-million” was found in her luggage on Wednesday night.

“After the passengers had collected their luggage from the carousel‚ the Border Police members conducted random stop and search operations.”

“…They found numerous parcels wrapped in tinfoil and further examination led to the discovery of tik…which was promptly seized.”

The woman is set to appear in the Khayelitsha Priority Crimes Court on Friday.

Cape Town International Airport station commander Colonel Anton Olivier “commended the members of the Border police for their vigilance and a job well done in seizing this large single consignment of drugs”‚ the statement said.
