Handcuffs‚ not medals for SA man in Brazil cocaine bust

While Olympic athletes headed home with their medals‚ a South African man was presented with a pair of handcuffs this week by narcotics police in Sao Paolo‚ Brazil. The 31-year-old was arrested for possession of 10 capsules of cocaine.Directorate of Priority Crimes Investigation said on Friday that the man was identified and arrested at a hotel in Bras‚ Sao Paulo."The cocaine was found hidden in his luggage. Upon interrogation the suspect confessed that he had swallowed some capsules‚" said a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda.The bust was the result of collaboration between Interpol and the narcotics division of police in Sao Paolo.He was promptly "taken to hospital for the purposes of expelling the capsules under controlled circumstances".His name has not yet been released. - TMG Digital..
