Case of alleged granny killer postponed

A 20-year-old man accused of three murders‚ including that of an 88-year-old grandmother‚ appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court in Limpopo on Tuesday‚ where his case was postponed. Madia Maboya allegedly killed Moloko Nkoana and her domestic worker‚ Maggie Molefe‚ 44‚ according to police.The two women were last seen on August 16. Their dead and partly decomposed bodies were discovered in their home when Nkoana's daughter visited them on August 23."Preliminary investigations have found that the granny might have been strangled and the domestic worker had multiple stab wounds throughout her body. The deceased’s two cell phones were found missing‚" said Limpopo police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.Police believe they have tied Maboya‚ who is from Makotopong village outside Polokwane‚ where the murders took place‚ to another murder in the same village."This murder suspect was also linked to another separate brutal murder of his grandmother Mosebodi Jane Maboya aged 82 during August 2014‚" Ngoepe said.A 17-year-old boy has also been arrested in connection with the case. He was found in possession of Nkoana and Molefe's cell phones and a jacket.He is due to appear in court later this week on charges relating to the possession of suspected stolen property‚ Ngoepe said.Maboya's case returns to court for a formal bail application and further police investigations on September 16...
